A B O U T - S Y N C R E T I S M

an ever-evolving learning experience...

By definition:

  • n. Reconciliation or fusion of differing systems of belief, as in philosophy or religion, especially when success is partial or the result is heterogeneous.
  • n. The merging of two or more originally different inflectional forms.
  • n. The attempted reconciliation or union of irreconcilable principles or parties, as in philosophy or religion; specifically, the doctrines of a certain school in the Lutheran Church, followers of Calixtus, who attempted to effect a union among all Christians, Protestant and Catholic. Sec syncretist.

Ever-evolving experiences come with the reading of old and new books, observing old and new ways and pondering old and new thoughts. They say history repeats itself. So does spirituality. No matter how far back we research, we can see that humans have been pondering the same questions as far as we can trace and every single holy text comes back to the same questions and stories. It looks as though these stories have been added to or taken away from, when, could it not be that they are all bits of the same story? Yes, some lost along the way or intentionally taken away, or added-to. At this point those questions of "what happened" tend to hinder and road-block the search for truth. If we put all of the bits together like a puzzle, this world can make much more sense and one can reconcile more of the troubles we are faced with.

We CAN deal, heal, and move forward.

Is that not more peaceful than the alternative pain of guilt, denial, anger & revenge, depression, hopelessness and manipulation?

Is that not more god-like, spirit-like or at one with nature?
